Conventions overview:

The font of the album cover 

• Hidden meaning
• Title that explains to the audience what the album will be about 
• The exact iconography band name either in bold or simple
•  A simplistic colour scheme/ design 
• Image of the band or no characters

The inside of the album

• Usually the colour scheme is the same as the rest of album
• Blank and plain background
• No characters but usually objects are present within the frame
• Few or no text
• Sometimes album name

The spine of the album

• Name of the record company in recognised font, or logo
• Name of band
• Name of album
• Code linking to the record lable

The Back of the album cover 

• Name of the band at the very top
• Name of the album beneath the band name
• List of songs titles, usually centred or on the  left hand side
• Bar-code in bottom right hand corner
• Name of record company/ who the album has been distributed by
• Copyright and years/ who owns the copy right material

We found out that for different music genre its different style of album for each genre, this helps the consumers to recognise the genre type. For example, in pop music album it tend to have bold and colourful typography, whereas in Heavy-Metal Rock genre tends to be dark colour scheme and deep hidden meaning with dark/ fearless/ strong/ very bold typography.
