The actual tour poster:
We then deiscussed and researched the conventions of Tour Posters
Tour poster conventions
- Posters usually follow the same themes present in the front and back of their album covers.
- Although the image may differ slightly of have been enhanced with different effects, the posters image usually has similar denotations to the albums image. This usually occurs because the images used on the album and poster are often taken in the same photoshoot, resulting in images of a similar theme.
- When it comes to the text on a poster the name of the artist or the name of the album is usually the biggest size and exactly in the same typography of the band (the type of font the band used for their name).
- Text is often limited to the album name, the artist's name, the tour name & dates
- Usually the words "new album" or "Out Now" are presented within the poster to draw the audience attention to recognise the album if its NEW or OUT.
- Promotional posters also include information about details of the album and/ or album tour. These details include the venues dates and websites to inform the viewer of he album release and/ or where to obtain tickets for the tour event.
